End of life for windows xp systemsIn April of 2014 Microsoft will officially end support for their 11 year old Windows XP operating system. This means they will no longer release any free or paid for support or updates for security loops holes, bugs etc.
What does this mean?? Well, If someone finds a loophole in the system that they exploit for personal gain then they will not release a fix for that. This means that you could get a virus or malware attack again and again because the way they got into your system is still open. You could pay to get it removed and then it would come back very quickly.
The same goes for Office 2003 which includes Word, Excel, Powerpoint and Outlook. We do not recommend using any of these applications or Windows XP after 2013.
What else could happen? If for example you buy a new printer or device for your Windows XP machine then the company could be reluctant to release a driver to make it work with XP. This may not happen immediately after 2014 but rest assured it will soon. We can only recommend updating and migrating your home or business systems over to Windows 7 or Windows 8.1
